One of the most important Serbian directors and good friend of Sofia International Film Festival, Goran Paskaljevic, passed away at the age of 74, in Paris.
The audience in Sofia had the opportunity to meet most of his works in the program at the festival, as he often personally presented them in our country.
Goran Paskaljević was born in 1947 in Belgrade, he studied at the famous Prague film school FAMU. He has made 30 documentaries and 18 feature films, which have been screened and awarded at the most prestigious international film festivals (Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, San Sebastian, Valladolid. The Museum of Modern Art in New York MoMA in 2008 and the British Film Institute in London in 2010 organized a full retrospective of his feature films, along with the publication of a monograph in English about his work.
We expected Paskaljevic to present in our country in March his latest film "Despite the Fog" in the program of the 24th Sofia Film Fest.
Goodbye, Gorane!
Thanks for the great movie and friendship!
