Levan Koguashvili will present in person his film on September 14 on the stage of Sofia Summer Fest.
Awarded with three prizes in Tribeca, „Brighton 4th“ is a co-production with Bulgaria, supported by Bulgarian National Film Center.
„Brighton 4th“ is the third feature film by Levan Koguashvili after „Street Days“ and the international festival hit „Blind Dates“ with over 20 awards from festivals around the world, 3 of which at the Sofia International Film Fest. Its world premiere was in an international competition at the 20th Tribeca Festival, New York, where it triumphed with the awards for Best international feature film, screenplay and actor (Levan Tediashvili).
Levan Koguashvili's new film tells the story of a father, a former wrestler who travels from Tbilisi to Brighton Beach in New York to help his son, who is embroiled in troubled loan and mobster situations. This is the story of a father and son who gradually rediscover truths about each other and find themselves in the strange microcosm of Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, where they will get to know the lives of immigrants and „real America“.
The film is a co-production between Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria and USA with the support of the Bulgarian National Film Center. Producer on the Bulgarian side is Art Fest (Stefan Kitanov and Mira Staleva).
The cinematographer of the film is one of the greatest masters behind the camera in Hollywood - Phedon Papamichael, who worked with Alexander Payne, Wim Wenders, James Mangold, Oliver Stone and many others. Starring Levan Tediashvili (two-time Olympic and five-time world wrestling champion), Georgi Tabidze and Nadya Mikhalkova. The sound designer is Svetlozar Georgiev, and the costume designer is Eka Bichinashvili. The executive producer on the Bulgarian side is Svetla Tsotsorkova.
The film will be presented by director Levan Koguashvili and a team.
