For our festival team, it is plesure to share the news that the managing director of Sofia International Film Festival / Art Fest and Head of Coproduction Market Sofia Meetings, Mrs Mira Staleva has been invited by Renaud Laville – General Director of AFCAE to be a part of the jury, which will award a prize in the Official Selection of the Cannes Festival in 2019.
The chairman of the jury is Isabelle Gibbal-Hardy, who represents “Cinema Le Grand Action" in Paris. The other members are Matthias Elwardt („Zeise Cinema, Hamburg,Germany), Mario Fortin (“Cinemas Beaubien et du Parc, Montreal, Quebec) and Mark Van Maele (“Cinema ABC, Toulouse, France)
Mira Staleva represents Cinema House in Sofia and she will have the engagement to discuss with all her colleagues 39 long features, which have included in the Official Selection and the "Un Certain Regard” and to make their choice.
Mira Staleva is one of the experts of the Producers Network (Sofia Meeting's partner through the years) and will be guest of honour at one of the round tables in Cannes during Marche du Film/ Producers Network as well.
The 72nd Cannes International Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film events in the world, opens TODAY - May 14, and the awards will become clear on May 25, 2019.
