The homeless Tae-suk lives like a phantom; his daily life consists of temporary accommodation in houses and apartments, which he learns will be available (for a while). He never steals or damages the homes of his unknown hosts; rather, he plays the role of a kind guest who sleeps in other people's beds, eats some of the food in other people's refrigerators, and in return for their unexpected hospitality does their housework or makes repairs where necessary. The beautiful model Sun-hwa lives as a disembodied shadow, locked by her abusive husband in a luxurious, pretentiously decorated house. Although Tae-suk and Sun-hwa are doomed to leave no trace of themselves in the world, and their experiences are doomed to ghostly silence and anonymity, their paths intersect at the whim of fate.
